December 2025

I hope you are all doing well and have adjusted to wearing extra layers of clothing, be strong and remember, the first day of spring is March 20th!

November brought our annual Veterans Day event to local 602. Veterans Chair Bernadine Ross and her committee did a great job putting the event together. The event had great speakers, good food and our Brother Sam Warren was honored during the event. Congratulation to Sam and thank you for your years of commitment to UAW local 602 and for your service to our country!

The Kids Christmas party was fantastic. Santa stopped by to visit with all the kids and even told them all a Christmas story. The Grinch stopped by and even brought his dog with him! A big thank you to everyone that helped make the event happen, you all made a lot of kids (and parents) very happy!

Retirees Chair Marta Bobillo put on a wonderful Retiree Christmas dinner this year. It was a packed union hall and barely an empty seat. It is so wonderful to see so many of our Brother and Sisters during the holidays. Thank you to Marta and all of the retirees for paving the way for all active and future UAW local 602 members!

Someone once said - “The Joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing each other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of the holidays.” Brothers and Sisters of UAW local 602 you outdid yourselves again. This year we raised over $18,000 during the Toys for tots gate collection. Over 350 bikes and helmets were donated and so many toys that it took two box trucks and two pickup trucks with trailers multiple trips to deliver all the toys. We also took in over $17,000 for the Old Newsboys gate collection. Our Community Service committee held a food drive that we were able to deliver to local food pantry’s in the area. The Community Service committee also delivered Thanksgiving dinners to family’s in need during the holiday. Thank you local 602 for brightening lives in our community and help bear the burdens of those in need. Your generosity has helped restore the magic of the holidays for thousands in our community. Well done!

Here’s to a season of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories with your home being filled with the warmth of family and friends this holiday.

In Solidarity,

Mike
