On July 25, 2015, UAW Local 724 will be celebrating the 75th anniversary of our Local. The actual charter date is May 14, 1940. The Local 724 Executive Board discussed the May time frame and concerns were voiced that it can still be up and down with the temperatures.
On Saturday, July 25, from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm, we are extending a welcome to all active and retired Local 724 members and their families to join us in this celebration. We will be having the event at the UAW Local 724 Union Hall at 450 Clare Street, Lansing.
There will be food, games for the kids, unit exhibits, and a charity dunk tank, to name a few of the activities. We will have some give-aways, and 75th anniversary commemorative T-shirts for sale as well.
If you would like to volunteer for the event or have an item from our past history, please contact the Local and we will be happy to have the help.
The proud history of our Local is something to we need to preserve and celebrate. UAW Local 724 will continue to fight for the middle-class American way of life and we can honor those who fought the good fight before us.
