The trip to the Four Winds Casino on June 22 will be an all-day trip. We will also play bus Bingo. We will meet at Local 724 before 8:00 a.m. and pick up in Charlotte at 8:30 a.m. at the park-and-ride next to the VFW hall on Lansing Road.

The Region 1-C area retirees’ picnic will be at Hawk Island County Park in Lansing on Monday, August 15. We will stop giving out tickets at 12:00, so get there early! It’s always a great time. Disabled folks will eat first, then we will call tables by numbers.

At our retiree chapter election, no one came forward to run against us, so the executive board is still the same. We do work hard to make it the best chapter ever.

Happy birthday to Jack Calahan in May. Jack and Lois Calahan will be married 60 years in September. They live up in Evart.

Happy birthday to Betty Varney and Tim DeCorti.

Our June 8 meeting will be our picnic, with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill. I wish more folks would show up, as we do like to see old friends!

John Hoyt called. He is doing much better. He had two lung transplants and a triple bypass altogether. They told him it takes about a year to feel really good.

Condolences to the family of Dale Fee, a friend of mine.

They got the business tax dropped. Now they are picking on the retirees, disabled, and the poor that need help the most. Folks get voted in and they forget about the people who are the lifeblood of the good old USA.
